Job summary

Securitas UK is seeking a MEWPS Engineer to service and inspect lift equipment, perform PDI checks, and respond to site breakdowns. You will use a PDA to log checks and coordinate with the engineering team to keep machines available and compliant.

The role requires an engineering qualification (NVQ2 or equivalent), hands-on fault-finding skills, and professional communication with clients. IPAF is required; CAP licence is desirable, with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification (ideally in plant maintenance) – minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
• Competent in electro/hydraulic systems.
• Experience in fault-finding/diagnostics.
• Ability to communicate professionally with customers and colleagues.
• Ability to prioritise tasks in a demanding hire environment.
• Valid IPAF Operator licence/certification required.
• Valid CAP licence desirable.

Role Overview

In brief, the position of MEWPS Engineer involves:

• Carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDIs), services, LOLER inspections, repairs, and manufacturer updates, and maintaining the corporate image of our fleet of rental machines.
• Attending breakdowns on customer sites.
• Accurately recording all necessary checks using a company-issued PDA, following company procedure at all times.
• Communicating effectively with the engineering team and hire office to make sure that the depot maintains maximum machine availability.

• You must hold an engineering qualification (ideally in plant maintenance) - minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
