Job summary

AFI, Wakefield, is seeking a MEWPS Engineer to service and maintain a fleet of powered access machines. You will perform PDIs, services, LOLER inspections, and manufacturer updates, while working on customer sites when needed.

The role requires NVQ level 2 or equivalent, competence in electro/hydraulic systems, fault-finding, and an IPAF Operator licence. You will liaise with customers and the hire office to keep machines available and compliant.

Qualifications

• You must hold an engineering qualification (ideally in plant maintenance) – minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
• Be competent in electro/hydraulic systems.
• Experience in fault-finding/diagnostics.
• Communicate professionally with customers and colleagues.
• Prioritise tasks in a demanding hire environment.
• A valid IPAF Operator licence/certification is required.
• A valid CAP licence would be desirable.

Role Overview

In brief, the position of MEWPS Engineer involves:

• Carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDIs), services, LOLER inspections, repairs, and manufacturer updates, and maintaining the corporate image of our fleet of rental machines.
• Attending breakdowns on customer sites.
• Accurately recording all necessary checks using a company-issued PDA, following company procedure at all times.
• Communicating effectively with the engineering team and hire office to make sure that the depot maintains maximum machine availability.
