Job summary

AFI seeks a MEWPS Engineer to perform PDIs, servicing, LOLER checks, and repairs on our fleet. You will respond to breakdowns on customer sites and update records on a PDA, ensuring adherence to procedures. Strong fault-finding in electro/hydraulic systems and clear communication with clients are essential.

IPAF licence is required and CAPLicence desirable. The role is based in Wakefield with a negotiable salary (DOE) plus overtime, and opportunities for progression within a fast-paced national

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification (ideally in plant maintenance) – minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
• Competent in electro/hydraulic systems.
• Experience in fault-finding/diagnostics.
• Professional communication with customers and colleagues.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a demanding hire environment.
• IPAF Operator licence/certification is required.
• CAP licence would be desirable.
• Experience with MEWPS/Cherry Pickers is beneficial.

Role Overview

In brief, the position of MEWPS Engineer involves:

• Carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDIs), services, LOLER inspections, repairs, and manufacturer updates, and maintaining the corporate image of our fleet of rental machines.
• Attending breakdowns on customer sites.
• Accurately recording all necessary checks using a company-issued PDA, following company procedure at all times.
• Communicating effectively with the engineering team and hire office to make sure that the depot maintains maximum machine availability.

We would welcome applications for this MEWPS Engineer role with the following skills: mobile engineer, engineering, NVQ level 2, plant maintenance, communication, diagnostics, PDI, servicing, LOLER inspections, repairs, and powered access.

You must hold an engineering qualification (ideally in plant maintenance) – minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent.

Be competent in electro/hydraulic systems.

You will be experienced in fault-finding/diagnostics.

You will be working closely with customers and colleagues, so you must be able to communicate professionally.

You must be able to prioritise tasks in an ever-changing, demanding hire environment.

A valid IPAF Operator licence/certification is required

A valid CAP licence would be desirable.
