Job summary

AFI Group of Companies seeks a MEWPS Engineer to perform PDIs, servicing, LOLER inspections, repairs, and updates on our rental fleet. You will attend breakdowns on customer sites and maintain machine availability while recording checks on a PDA and following company procedures.

The role requires an engineering qualification (NVQ level 2 or equivalent) with competence in electro/hydraulic systems and fault-finding, plus professional communication skills. IPAF is required; CAP licence desirable.

Qualifications

• You must hold an engineering qualification (ideally in plant maintenance) with minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
• Be competent in electro/hydraulic systems and fault-finding/diagnostics.
• You will communicate professionally with customers and colleagues.
• You must be able to prioritise tasks in a demanding hire environment.
• A valid IPAF Operator licence/certification is required.
• A valid CAP licence would be desirable.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Role OverviewIn brief, the position of MEWPS Engineer involves:

• Carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDIs), services, LOLER inspections, repairs, and manufacturer updates, and maintaining the corporate image of our fleet of rental machines.
• Attending breakdowns on customer sites.
• Accurately recording all necessary checks using a company-issued PDA, following company procedure at all times.
• Communicating effectively with the engineering team and hire office to make sure that the depot maintains maximum machine availability.
