Job summary

AFI-Rentals, a leading UK powered access specialist, is recruiting a MEWPS Engineer based from our London East depot. You will carry out PDIs, servicing, LOLER inspections, repairs and manufacturer updates, and attend breakdowns on customer sites.

You will record checks on a PDA, follow procedures, and collaborate with the engineering team to keep the fleet available and compliant. An IPAF licence and strong diagnostic skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification required, ideally in plant maintenance.
• Minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
• Competence in electro/hydraulic systems and fault finding/diagnostics.
• Ability to communicate professionally with customers and colleagues.

AFI is currently recruiting an MEWPS Engineer based from our London East depot.

About the Role

• Carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDIs), services, LOLER inspections, repairs, and manufacturer updates, and maintaining the corporate image of our fleet of rental machines.
• Attending breakdowns on customer sites.
• Accurately recording all necessary checks using a company-issued PDA, following company procedure at all times.
• Communicating effectively with the engineering team and hire office to make sure that the depot maintains maximum machine availability.

Requirements

• You must hold an engineering qualification (ideally in plant maintenance) – minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
• Be competent in electro/hydraulic systems.
• You will be experienced in fault-finding/diagnostics.
• You will be working closely with customers and colleagues, so you must be able to communicate professionally.
• You must be able to prioritise tasks in an ever-changing, demanding hire environment.
• A valid IPAF Operator licence/certification is required.
