Job summary

Speedy Hire Plc. is seeking a Mobile Powered Access Engineer to cover Newport and surrounding areas. You will service, refurbish, repair, and maintain powered access equipment at customer sites, responding to breakdowns and completing scheduled maintenance to ensure safe, reliable machinery.

The role requires reading electrical and hydraulic drawings, fault finding, and experience with access brands like Niftylift, Skyjack, Genie, and JLG. Opportunities for training and progression are included.

Qualifications

• CAP registration preferred.
• Experience with powered access equipment (Niftylift/Skyjack/Genie/JLG) is advantageous.
• Experience estimating repairs with attention to detail.
• Fault finding and diagnostics experience.
• Ability to read electrical/hydraulic drawings.
• Previous engineering experience in powered access.
• Support ESG initiatives within the business.

Responsibilities

• Service, refurbishment, repair and maintenance of powered access equipment.
• Attend emergency breakdowns and scheduled service maintenance.
• Ensure customers use safe and reliable equipment.
• Support the ESG strategy and Decade to Deliver programme.

Job description

Mobile Powered Access Engineer - Newport - Monday to Friday - 07:30 - 17:00 - 45 HOURS

As a Mobile Powered Access Engineer covering Newport and surrounding areas, you will be responsible for the service, refurbishment, repair and maintenance of our powered access equipment based at our customer’s sites. We offer our customers the highest level of care, therefore this role will involve attending emergency breakdown calls as well as scheduled service maintenance. You will ensure that our customers are using safe and reliable equipment so that they can count on us to deliver customer excellence.

What You’ll Need

• Ideally be CAP registered
• Previous experience in working on powered access equipment such as Niftylift, Skyjack, Genie and JLG would be an advantage
• Experience in estimating repairs to be carried out with a keen eye for detail
• Experience in fault finding and diagnostics
• Able to read electrical / hydraulic drawings, understanding both systems
• Previous engineering experience within powered access
• Ability to support your business unit/team to deliver our ESG Strategy – Decade to Deliver.
