Speedy Hire in Wellington is seeking an experienced Powered Access Engineer to join our depot-based team. This hands-on role covers servicing, repairing and refurbishing our powered access fleet, ensuring equipment is safe, reliable and ready for hire.
You will diagnose faults across electrical and hydraulic systems, read drawings, and work with the depot team to maintain high safety and quality standards. A background in powered access equipment and a proactive attitude are essential.
Qualifications
- Previous engineering experience with powered access equipment
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Reading electrical and hydraulic drawings
- Understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems
- Attention to detail when identifying and estimating repairs
- Health and safety focused
- Team player in a busy engineering environment
Responsibilities
- Servicing, maintaining and repairing powered access equipment
- Diagnosing electrical, mechanical and hydraulic faults
- Completing refurbishment work and preparing equipment to go back on hire
- Carrying out inspections and identifying required repairs
- Accurately estimating repair requirements
- Reading and interpreting electrical and hydraulic drawings
- Ensuring equipment meets safety and quality standards
- Completing maintenance documentation
- Collaborating with depot team to ensure equipment availability
- Maintaining a safe, organized workshop environment
