Job summary

United Infrastructure Ltd is seeking a Project Engineer to support a major overhead lines project in Scotland. You will coordinate engineering, construction and commercial activities, ensuring delivery to programme, budget and quality expectations.

You will work closely with the Project Manager and multi-disciplinary teams to align technical requirements, manage interfaces, and drive safe, efficient delivery on a large-scale Power T&D programme.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience as Project Engineer, Assistant PM, Site Engineer or similar.
• Experience delivering construction, infrastructure or utilities projects.
• Strong coordination and organisational skills.
• Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and multiple interfaces.
• Good understanding of project planning, cost control, risk and reporting.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical information.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.
• Proactive approach to identify and resolve project issues.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager with the delivery of assigned work packages across the project.
• Coordinate engineering, construction, commercial and planning activities to align requirements.
• Manage subcontractors and suppliers to ensure safe, on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Monitor scope, programme, cost and risk; elevate issues as needed.
• Collaborate with Commercial to ensure aligned commercial matters.
• Develop and maintain project programmes reflecting progress and future activities.
• Coordinate technical information, drawings and design deliverables across teams.
• Assist with technical queries and RFIs.
• Prepare and issue project correspondence per contractual requirements.
• Contribute to execution plans, construction strategies and future phases.
• Support design reviews and ensure information is construction-ready.
• Coordinate interfaces between designers, construction teams, subcontractors and client reps.
• Attend project, progress, technical and stakeholder meetings.
• Support project reporting including progress, risk, programme and delivery updates.
• Maintain strong engagement with clients and key stakeholders.
• Ensure works follow company procedures, client requirements and HSEQ standards.
