United Infrastructure Power T&D Limited is seeking a Project Engineer to support a major overhead lines project in Scotland. You will work with the Project Manager and team to coordinate engineering, planning, and construction across work packages, ensuring safety, quality and client alignment.

The role requires a technical background, experience in major infrastructure projects, and strong coordination skills to manage subcontractors and interfaces while driving programme and cost performance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager with the delivery of allocated work packages across the project.
• Coordinate engineering, construction, commercial and planning activities to align requirements.
• Manage subcontractors and suppliers to ensure safety, timeliness and budget.
• Monitor scope, programme, cost and risk and escalate as needed.
• Collaborate with Commercial team to align operational and commercial matters.
• Develop and maintain project programmes reflecting progress and future work.
• Coordinate technical information, drawings and construction requirements.
• Review and respond to technical queries and RFIs.
• Prepare and issue project correspondence per contract requirements.
• Contribute to execution plans, construction strategies and future project phases.
• Support design reviews and ensure design information is construction-ready.
• Coordinate interfaces between designers, construction teams, subcontractors and client reps.
• Attend project, progress, technical and stakeholder meetings.
• Assist with project reporting on progress, risk, programme and delivery.
• Maintain strong client and stakeholder engagement throughout delivery.

Project Engineer – Power T&D

United Infrastructure Power T&D are seeking a Project Engineer to support the delivery of a major overhead lines project in Scotland. The role will support the successful delivery of assigned work packages by helping to manage scope, programme, cost, risk and stakeholder requirements, while ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with project and client expectations. Role Overview As Project Engineer, you will work closely with the Project Manager and wider project team to coordinate the engineering and delivery of a range of work packages across the project lifecycle. You will provide the link between engineering, construction, commercial, planning, subcontractors and the client, helping to ensure that technical requirements are clearly understood and that works are delivered in accordance with programme, budget and quality expectations. The role would suit someone with a strong technical or project delivery background who is looking to progress further within major Power Transmission & Distribution projects.

About You

• A degree in a relevant engineering or technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience working in a Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, Site Engineer or similar project delivery role.
• Experience supporting the delivery of construction, infrastructure, utilities or engineering projects.
• Strong coordination and organisational skills.
• Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and multiple project interfaces.
• Good understanding of project planning, cost control, risk and project reporting.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical information.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively across engineering, construction, commercial and project management teams.
• A proactive approach with the ability to identify and resolve project issues.

Desirable Experience

• Previous Power Transmission & Distribution experience.
• Experience supporting overhead line projects.
• Experience working with transmission or distribution network operators.
• Civil engineering or enabling works experience.
• Experience working on multi-million-pound infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with NEC contracts.
• Experience working within a live construction environment.
