Job summary

United Infrastructure Power T&D Limited is seeking a Project Engineer to support a major overhead lines project in Scotland. You will work with the Project Manager and team to coordinate engineering, planning, and construction across work packages, ensuring safety, quality and client alignment.

The role requires a technical background, experience in major infrastructure projects, and strong coordination skills to manage subcontractors and interfaces while driving programme and cost performance.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience as a Project Engineer or similar project delivery role.
• Experience delivering construction, infrastructure, utilities or engineering projects.
• Strong coordination and organisational skills.
• Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and multiple interfaces.
• Good understanding of project planning, cost control, risk and reporting.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical information.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work across engineering, construction, commercial and project management teams.
• Proactive approach to identifying and resolving project issues.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager with the delivery of allocated work packages across the project.
• Coordinate engineering, construction, commercial and planning activities to align requirements.
• Manage subcontractors and suppliers to ensure safety, timeliness and budget.
• Monitor scope, programme, cost and risk and escalate as needed.
• Collaborate with Commercial team to align operational and commercial matters.
• Develop and maintain project programmes reflecting progress and future work.
• Coordinate technical information, drawings and construction requirements.
• Review and respond to technical queries and RFIs.
• Prepare and issue project correspondence per contract requirements.
• Contribute to execution plans, construction strategies and future project phases.
• Support design reviews and ensure design information is construction-ready.
• Coordinate interfaces between designers, construction teams, subcontractors and client reps.
• Attend project, progress, technical and stakeholder meetings.
• Assist with project reporting on progress, risk, programme and delivery.
• Maintain strong client and stakeholder engagement throughout delivery.
• Ensure works comply with company procedures and health, safety, quality and environmental standards.
