Job summary

Turner Lovell is seeking an experienced Overhead Line Project Engineer to support major transmission infrastructure programmes in Scotland. The role is based in Perth with hybrid working and covers 132kV, 275kV and 400kV overhead line projects across the full lifecycle.

You will review designs, coordinate multi-disciplinary activities, manage engineering risks, and act as the key contact for OHL engineering across project and site meetings, ensuring governance and CDM compliance.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in overhead line development, design or specification.
• Experience within a contractor, consultancy or client-side transmission environment.
• Technical degree or HND with relevant engineering experience.
• Familiarity with PLS-CADD would be advantageous but is not essential.

Overhead Line Project Engineer

Location: Perth, Scotland - Hybrid

Contract: 12 months

Rate: £800 - £850 per day via Umbrella PAYE

Turner Lovell is recruiting an experienced Overhead Line Project Engineer to support major transmission infrastructure programmes in Scotland. Working within the Project Engineering team, you will provide technical engineering support across 132kV, 275kV and 400kV overhead line projects, covering the full project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Review contractor and consultant OHL designs, ensuring compliance with specifications and technical standards.
• Coordinate engineering activities across multiple disciplines and manage engineering risks and opportunities.
• Act as the key point of contact for Overhead Line Engineering across project, commercial, programme and site meetings.
• Support engineering governance, quality and CDM requirements throughout project delivery.

We are looking for
