Siemens AG in the UK Hebburn office is seeking an Applications Engineer to join our power systems and protection team. You’ll design, configure and test protection and control solutions for critical infrastructure, working with SIPROTEC and other relays while engaging customers.
Travel to customer sites across the UK and Ireland is possible, with flexible hours and a strong focus on learning and development within a supportive engineering community.
This role is primarily based from our Hebburn office, where collaboration with the wider engineering team forms an important part of the role. We offer flexibility when required, alongside occasional travel to customer sites across the UK and Ireland.
Our Applications Engineering team is at the forefront of power system protection, helping customers solve complex technical challenges, develop innovative solutions and adopt emerging technologies. Combining technical expertise with customer engagement, you'll work on everything from protection relay applications and system testing to solution development and customer support, alongside a highly experienced team of power system specialists.
We welcome applications from candidates at all stages of their career and are open to appointing at Applications Engineer, Senior Applications Engineer or Principal Applications Engineer level depending on experience and capability.
Working at the forefront of power system protection, you'll support a diverse range of projects involving SIPROTEC and Reyrolle protection relays, IEC 61850 digital substations, protection and control systems, and transmission and distribution networks. You'll work closely with customers and colleagues to develop solutions, provide technical expertise and help deliver reliable, resilient power infrastructure.
This is an opportunity to join a highly experienced and collaborative team of power systems and protection specialists who enjoy solving complex engineering challenges and sharing knowledge. No two projects are the same, and you'll have the chance to work across a wide variety of technologies, customers and applications within critical energy infrastructure. As the team often supports emerging technologies and new developments, you'll be exposed to innovative work rather than purely business-as-usual activities, giving you the opportunity to continuously learn and broaden your expertise. Whether you're early in your career or an experienced engineer, you'll be surrounded by knowledgeable colleagues who are passionate about developing talent, supporting each other and delivering technical excellence for customers across the UK and Ireland.
We are fully committed to providing equal opportunities and building an inclusive workplace where a broad range of backgrounds and perspectives thrive. We embrace the many ways people think, learn, and experience the world—because we know that diverse minds drive innovation. So that we can support you to be your best during the application and interview process, please let us know if you have any specific requirements.
