Job summary

Siemens Smart Infrastructure in Hebburn, near Newcastle upon Tyne, is seeking a Senior Service Engineer for Protection & Control. The role combines office/home-based work (about 70%) with 30% customer site travel, supporting critical UK electrical transmission and distribution networks.

You will diagnose faults, provide remote support under SLAs, and perform site fault investigation, testing and commissioning on protection systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in electricity Transmission & Distribution sector.
• Background in Protection & Control engineering and commissioning.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rota.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, investigate and resolve faults across Protection & Control systems.
• Provide remote technical support under SLAs.
• Attend customer sites to investigate issues and implement solutions.
• Carry out testing, commissioning and secondary injection testing.
• Support FAT/SAT activities and produce engineering documentation.
