Job summary

Siemens in Hebburn, UK is seeking an Applications Engineer to work on power system protection solutions, involving SIPROTEC and Reyrolle relays, IEC 61850, and transmission networks. You’ll collaborate with customers and colleagues to deliver robust protection schemes and training throughout project lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Understanding of electrical power systems and protection principles.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, test and commission protection and control solutions for critical power infrastructure.
• Develop protection schemes and support FAT, SAT and secondary injection testing activities.
• Provide technical support, troubleshooting, training and guidance to customers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Work directly with customers to understand technical challenges and develop effective engineering solutions.
• Collaborate with sales, tendering and project teams, contributing technical expertise to bids, proposals and customer presentations.
• Support the development and application of new technologies and innovative protection solutions.
• Build strong relationships with customers and colleagues while continuing to develop your technical knowledge within a supportive and highly experienced engineering team.
• Ensure Compliance by handling type registrations and ENA assessments for both transmission and distribution operators
