Job summary

Omnia Projects, part of Egis, is seeking a Design Assurance Engineer to perform BP141 design assurance across National Grid projects. The role requires ensuring that designs for installations, asset replacements, connections and substations meet National Grid specs, standards, and regulatory requirements.

You will collaborate with National Grid teams, DNOs and contractors to deliver safe, compliant designs. Experience in the UK Electricity Transmission/Distribution system is essential.

Qualifications

• Essential: HNC or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related discipline.
• Essential: National Grid BP141 Design Assurance Engineer authorisation.
• Essential: Chartered Engineer status or working towards CEng.
• Proven experience in infrastructure design, design assurance or technical approval within the Electricity Transmission/DNO sector.

Responsibilities

• Review design submissions for compliance with National Grid standards and BP188 timescales.
• Provide feedback to address design gaps, non-compliance or risks.
• Support completion of design pack DCAAR once requirements are met.
• Engage in design coordination meetings with stakeholders and other disciplines.
• Identify risks in contractor designs and recommend mitigation actions.
