Job summary

Egis is actively seeking a Design Assurance Engineer to deliver BP141 design assurance for National Grid projects. The role ensures that designs meet technical specifications, standards and regulatory requirements, with collaboration across project teams.

You will review submissions, provide feedback, support DCAAR, and coordinate with contractors. UK travel will be required. Chartered Engineer status and BP141 authorisation are highly regarded.

Qualifications

• HNC or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related discipline.
• Currently or previously held National Grid BP141 Design Assurance Engineer authorisation
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards CEng accreditation
• Proven experience in infrastructure design, design assurance, or technical approval within the Electricity Transmission and/or DNO sector.

Responsibilities

• Review and assess design submissions for compliance with National Grid, technical specifications, procedures and engineering standards.
• Provide detailed feedback and recommendations to address design gaps, non-compliance, or potential risks.
• Support completion of design pack DCAAR once all technical, safety, and regulatory requirements are met.
• Engage in regular project design review meetings with a variety of stakeholders.
• Coordination and technical interface with other design assurance engineering disciplines.
