Job summary

National Grid in Warwick is seeking a Power System Engineer to design and develop the electricity transmission network, ensuring safety, reliability and efficiency. You'll work with customers and project teams to drive the energy transition.

You'll apply power system studies, modelling, and emerging technologies such as HVDC, FACTS and renewables, using tools like DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, Python and DPL to deliver innovative network solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/master's/PhD in Power Systems Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong understanding of power systems, studies and modelling.
• Experience with Power Factor and OLTA studies and network compliance.
• Knowledge of SQSS, CUSC and Grid Code; ability to deliver clear technical work.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop the electricity transmission system to ensure safety and reliability.
• Support compliance assessments for new network connections and renewables.
• Apply power system studies and modelling using DIgSILENT/PSCAD; develop innovative network solutions.
• Communicate technical information clearly to customers and stakeholders.
