Job summary

GE Vernova seeks a detail-oriented Power System Studies Application Engineer to perform advanced analysis and modeling of electrical power systems for industrial and energy projects in the UK. You will develop models, conduct interconnection studies, and ensure compliance with grid codes.

You will collaborate with utilities, regulators and project teams across multiple countries and travel as needed to client sites and meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems or related field.
• Experience in power system analysis or grid studies.
• Proficiency with PSSE, PowerFactory, PSCAD or ETAP.
• Strong understanding of transmission and distribution operations and planning.
• Familiarity with renewable energy integration and grid codes.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform power system studies including load flow, short circuit, transient and dynamic stability.
• Analysis of protection coordination and harmonic analysis.
• Arc flash assessments and model development for industrial and oil/gas projects.
• Support interconnection studies for renewables, BESS, and DERs.
• Analyze grid code compliance for regulatory filings and utility coordination.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with project teams, utilities, and regulators to ensure deliverables meet requirements.
• Stay current with IEEE, IEC, NERC, ENTSO-E standards and technologies.
• Coordinate with UK, France, Germany, USA and India teams on procedures.
