Job summary

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions is seeking a Power Press Setter/Operator in Dudley to set and operate power presses up to 400T. You will prepare tooling, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine quality checks to ensure parts meet technical drawings and tolerances.

The role requires RoSpa certification, ability to read drawings, and diligent use of measuring tools. Overtime may be required; starting pay is negotiable based on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience setting and operating power presses up to 400T.
• Valid Power Press Setter's Certificate (RoSpa) required.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Competent with standard workshop and quality measuring tools.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate power presses up to 400T.
• Prepare and fit forming, piercing, cropping, progression tooling; set De-Coilers.
• Prepare pedestal drillers (training provided).
• Troubleshoot press settings, tooling or production quality issues.
• Carry out routine quality checks using Vernier, callipers, gauges and height gauges.
• Record production output and quality data on provided documents.
• Maintain housekeeping around machinery per ISO 9001 standards.

Monday - Thursday 08.00- 16.15, Friday 08.00 - 15.30 OR Monday - Thursday 07.30 - 16.15, Friday07.30 - 12.30. (overtime maybe required)

Pay

Starting from £15, negotiable depending on experience

Job Purpose

• To set, operate Power Presses up to 400T
• Set press tools including forming, piercing, cropping and progression/follow through tooling. Set De- Coilers.
• Set Pedestal drillers (training will be given)
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to power press settings, tooling or production quality.
• Carry out routine quality checks to ensure components meet required tolerances and engineering drawings. (Using Vernier's, callipers, plug gauges and height gauges)
• Grinding of dies and punches (Preferred but not essential)
• Preform basic preventative maintenance, including the signing off and inspection of press guards.
• Record production output and quality inspection data on provided documents.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping standards around machinery, benches, and work areas in line with ISO 9001 practices.
• Follow all company Health & Safety and PPE polices without exception.
• Work flexible hours and overtime as required with a positive, team-first attitude.

Skills

• Proven experience in setting and operating power presses.
• Hold a valid Power Press Setter's Certificate (RoSpa) Essential.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Competent in using standard workshop and quality measuring tools.
• Familiarity with quality systems and standards such as ISO 9001
