Job summary

MAC Recruit Group Ltd in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead a complex power generation facility. You will be responsible for safe, reliable, and cost-effective delivery of the plant's maintenance strategy, overseeing planned and reactive activities and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

The role requires leading a multidisciplinary team, driving improvements in reliability and outages, coordinating shutdowns, and managing budgets, spares and contractor

Qualifications

• Experience leading multidisciplinary maintenance teams in heavy industry.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical plant and equipment.
• Experience with boilers, steam systems and/or steam turbines is advantageous.
• Proven ability to plan, schedule and manage outages safely.
• Experience with CMMS and maintenance management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary maintenance team.
• Manage planned, preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Develop and optimise the site's maintenance strategy and CMMS.
• Drive improvements in plant reliability and performance.
• Plan and coordinate shutdowns and major maintenance outages.
• Manage external contractors and specialist service providers.
• Lead root cause analysis for recurring failures.
• Manage maintenance budgets, costs, spares and resources.
• Ensure maintenance activities meet safety procedures and legislation.
• Collaborate with Operations to maximise plant availability.
• Ensure compliance with statutory engineering requirements (PSSR, LOLER, COSHH).
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance.
