Job summary

Siemens is seeking an Innovation Engineer – Power Electronics in the UK to join our international team. The role involves R&D across design, simulation, prototyping and testing of next‑gen power electronics, with travel to Newport and Germany as needed.

You will work with universities and partners to develop AI‑powered solutions, explore new materials, and validate concepts through hands‑on experiments in our Congleton and Newport facilities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
• Hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink and lab validation.
• Experience designing or applying advanced semiconductor devices.
• Knowledge of schematic and PCB design/layout tools.
• Good communication and ability to explain technical information.
• Creative, curious mindset and willingness to experiment.
• German language skills are a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and prototype innovative power electronics technologies.
• Design, simulate, build and test new converter concepts.
• Develop AI-powered solutions for products and processes.
• Explore emerging materials and power semiconductor options.
• Investigate advanced power electronics assembly techniques.
