Job summary

IC Resources is seeking a Power Electronics Engineer in Cardiff to drive the design and development of advanced power electronic circuits and systems across the full product lifecycle. You will collaborate with embedded, mechanical and systems engineers to deliver robust hardware solutions.

The role involves schematic capture, circuit simulation and hands-on testing, with opportunities to influence design reviews and manufacturing support for next-generation products.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronic Engineering, Power Electronics or a related discipline.
• Experience designing power electronic systems.
• Strong understanding of analogue electronics and power conversion techniques.
• Experience with schematic capture and laboratory testing.
• Knowledge of DC-DC converters, power management or motor control systems.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop power electronic circuits and systems
• Create schematics and support PCB design activities
• Perform simulation, testing and validation of hardware designs
• Support product development from concept through production
• Investigate and resolve technical issues during development
• Work closely with embedded, mechanical and systems engineers
• Contribute to design reviews and technical decision making
• Support manufacturing and product improvement activities
