Job summary

Activate Group in Halifax is seeking a Data and BI Analyst to join our IT team in a hybrid role. You will develop Power BI dashboards, support analytics initiatives, and translate stakeholder requirements into clear outputs.

You’ll collaborate with Data Engineering to ensure data accuracy and help migrate legacy reporting into modern BI solutions. The role offers hands-on delivery across projects and BAU activities, with opportunities to grow analytical capability and stakeholder management

Qualifications

• Experience in a BI Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role.
• Strong Power BI skills and report development.
• Good understanding of DAX and ability to create calculated measures.
• Strong SQL skills with structured datasets.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with stakeholders to understand and deliver requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and focus on data accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports aligned to business requirements.
• Translate stakeholder requirements into clear reporting outputs with support from senior team members.
• Support analytics initiatives including data preparation, modelling and visualisation.
• Work with Data Engineering to ensure data is accurate, structured and available for reporting.
• Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency of outputs.
• Apply BI standards including data modelling, naming conventions and report design.
• Support migration of legacy reporting into Power BI.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to understand reporting needs and provide solutions.
• Support continuous improvement of reporting and analytical processes.
• Document datasets, reports and business logic to support transparency and reuse.
