Job summary

University of Manchester is seeking a Data and Analytics Administrator to support statutory, strategic and operational reporting. You will work with Power BI, Oracle reporting tools and in-house systems to analyse, interpret and present data-driven insights to business stakeholders.

Responsibilities include developing reports for HESA, OfS and ONS returns, engaging stakeholders to translate requirements into analytics solutions, and ensuring data quality across university systems while meeting

Qualifications

  • Experience of using data analytics and reporting tools to manipulate, analyse and interpret data across systems and applications to produce business intelligence, Management Information and actionable insights.
  • Experience of using Power BI and/or Oracle reporting tools, with the ability to develop and maintain reports that meet business and stakeholder requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders with varying levels of data literacy and technical understanding.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, high-quality documentation and reporting outputs.
  • Knowledge and practical understanding of data protection principles and their application within the workplace, including the appropriate handling of personal and sensitive information.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and monitor a range of reports to support statutory, strategic and operational reporting requirements.
  • Lead and facilitate stakeholder engagement to understand business requirements, translate them into effective reporting and analytics solutions, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the University to identify, investigate and resolve data quality issues, liaising with wider business teams and IT colleagues where appropriate.
  • Support colleagues with processes and activities relating to the HESA Staff Return, ensuring data is accurate, complete and submitted within required deadlines.
  • Act as a first point of contact for incoming reporting and data escalations, assessing and prioritising issues, troubleshooting root causes, resolving problems where possible and appropriately escalating or routing more complex issues.
