Job summary

Canopius is seeking an analytics engineer to build and maintain analytics and reporting capabilities using Power BI and Databricks. You will translate business problems into reliable, well‑documented solutions while collaborating with data teams and business stakeholders.

The role focuses on developing semantic models, data validation and self‑service insights, with a hybrid work pattern requiring 2–3 days in Manchester office.

Qualifications

• Hands-on development with Power BI, including DAX and semantic models.
• Strong SQL skills for data analysis and transformation.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Git and development lifecycle processes.
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop analytics engineering and reporting solutions to provide trusted insights for decision making.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, Product Owners and analysts to translate needs into deliverables.
• Design, build and maintain semantic models, datasets and reporting in Power BI and Databricks.
• Improve report performance by reviewing data models, calculations and refresh strategies.
• Document data sources, logic, refresh schedules and access requirements.
• Support migration of legacy reporting onto modern platforms and ensure quality.
