Job summary

Royal Mail in Richmond is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to join our team with a permanent contract. You will sort mail, deliver by van and on foot in your local area, and build strong relationships with customers while working outdoors in all weather.

A full manual UK driving licence is required, with the ability to pass a driving assessment. The role involves 30 hours per week, typical Monday–Saturday shifts, and some weekends.

Location: Richmond Dl Delivery Office, DL10 4TE

Job type: Permanent contract

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 30:00 hours per week – working 5 days in 6 across Monday - Saturday – 08:30/15:00*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
