Royal Mail is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Kirkby In Ashfield. You will join a delivery team, sorting and delivering letters and parcels, working a rotating shift including weekends, and using a red Royal Mail van.

The role requires a full manual UK driving licence, physical fitness to walk long distances, and the ability to work outdoors. Full training provided, with benefits and overtime available.

Location: Kirkby In Ashfield Delivery Office, NG17 7AA

Job type: Fixed Term contract

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 30:00 hours per week – working (5) days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 0830/1500*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work Sundays at (mansfeld) Delivery Office.

What To Expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
