Job summary

Royal Mail in Stourport-on-Severn is seeking a Postie to deliver letters and parcels in the local area. You will sort at the delivery office, drive a Royal Mail van, and meet customers with a friendly, reliable service.

This fixed-term role offers 31 hours per week, weekend work, training provided, and an active outdoor posting routine. You must have a full UK driving licence, be physically fit, and enjoy working independently in all weather.

Location: Stourport On Severn Delivery Office, DY13 8BB

Job type: Fixed Term contract 12 months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 31:00 hours per week – working 6 days for 4 weeks with 5th week off – 08:00/15:00*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work Sundays at Kidderminster Delivery Office.

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
