Royal Mail Group in Worcester is recruiting a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for a fixed-term contract of 6 months. You will deliver letters and parcels in Worcester, walking and driving a Royal Mail van, and work outdoors in all weathers on a rotating schedule that includes weekends.

You will need a full manual UK driving licence, be physically fit, reliable, and customer-focused, with a willingness to pass a driving assessment. Training and a uniform are provided.

Job type: Fixed Termcontract (6 months)

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 30hours per week - working 5days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - 08:00/15:30*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
