Job summary

Royal Mail in Halesowen is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to deliver letters and parcels from Coombs Wood Delivery Office. The role requires a 27.5 hour week across a rotating schedule, including Sundays, with overtime and a uniform provided.

Location: Coombs Wood Delivery Office, B62 8RX

Job type: Fixed Term contract (12 months)

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 27:30 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 14:00/20:00*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work Sundays at Coombs Wood Delivery Office and the Sunday shift pattern would be from 11:00 - 17:00 / 14:00 - 20:00

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
