Job summary

Royal Mail is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for Stirling. You will sort letters and parcels, deliver by van and on foot, and build relationships with customers in all weather.

The role requires a full manual UK driving licence, physical stamina, and a commitment to working a 30-hour week across five days, including Sundays on a rotating schedule. Training is provided, with a uniform and a red Royal Mail van supplied.

Location: Stirling Delivery Office, FK7 7XX

Job type: Fixed Term contract 9 Months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 30 hours per week - working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - 15:00/21:00*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work Sundays at Stirling Delivery Office.

What To Expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily
• Working in all weather conditions
• Delivering letters and high volumes of parcels
• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About You

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
