Royal Mail in Stirling is seeking a delivery driver (Postie) on a fixed-term 9-month contract. You will work 30 hours a week across Monday to Sunday, delivering letters and parcels by van and on foot, in all weathers, on a rotating shift.

You must hold a full manual UK driving licence (up to 6 penalty points), be physically fit to walk long distances, and enjoy building relationships with customers while working outdoors and independently.

Location: Stirling Delivery Office, FK7 7XX

Job type: Fixed Term contract 9 months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 30:00 hours per week – working 5 days across Monday - Sunday – 10:00am/17:00pm*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

What To Expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily
• Working in all weather conditions
• Delivering letters and high volumes of parcels
• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
