Job summary

Royal Mail is hiring at Bitterne Manor Delivery Office in Southampton for a fixed term contract of 6 months. The role as a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) offers 30 hours per week, £13.68 per hour, with paid overtime available.

You’ll sort letters and parcels, deliver by van and on foot, and engage with customers while working outdoors in all weathers. The role requires a full manual UK driving licence, reliability and physical fitness.

Salary: £13.68 per hour (paid monthly) + paid overtime available

Working hours: 30.00 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 08:00/16:00

What To Expect

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About You

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
