Job summary

Royal Mail in Holsworthy is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed-term contract for 9 months. The role covers delivering letters and parcels in the local area, with a 20-hour week and 3–4 days across Monday to Saturday, 08:00–17:00, and paid overtime.

You’ll work outdoors in all weather, build relationships with customers, and follow a rotating shift pattern. Full training and a uniform are provided, along with a reliable van and driving assessment.

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
