Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Halesworth is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed-term 12-month contract. You will deliver letters and parcels, walking and driving a Royal Mail van on a rotating schedule that includes weekends, with hours from 09:00 to 15:00 and a 30-hour week.

Salary is £13.68 per hour, paid monthly, with paid overtime. You will receive full training and a uniform, and work outdoors in your local area to connect with the community.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence required (max 6 penalty points).
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, and lift 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable and self-motivated with good organisational skills.
• Customer-focused and proud to deliver great service.
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently.

Job type: Fixed Termcontract(12 months)

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 30 hourshours per week - working 5days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - 09:00/15:00*

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)

• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
