Job summary

Royal Mail in Maidenhead is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to sort and deliver letters and parcels across the local area. You will work outdoors in all weather, using a Royal Mail van and on foot, building relationships with customers.

The role involves 32 hours per week on a rotating schedule, including weekends, with full training provided and a uniform supplied. A full UK driving licence is essential, and you will pass a driving assessment as part of the recruitment process.

Location: Maidenhead Delivery Office, SL6 1AA

Job type: Permanent

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 32:00* hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 08:00 until 15:00/14:30 until 21:00

This is for 2 shift patterns 0800-1500 or 1430-2100

You’ll be required to work Sundays at Maidenhead Delivery Office.

What To Expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags

• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
