Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Maidenhead is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a permanent 32-hour week. You’ll sort and deliver letters and parcels by van and on foot, in all weathers, with a rotating shift pattern and weekend work.

You’ll need a full manual UK driving licence (up to 6 penalty points), be physically fit, able to lift mailbags, and comfortable working outdoors and independently. The role offers training, a pension, and benefits.

Location: Maidenhead Delivery Office, SL6 1AA

Job type: Permanent

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 32:00hours per week - working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday -08:00 until 15:00/14:30 until 21:00*

This is for 2 shift patterns 0800-1500 or 1430-2100

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
