Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Llangefni is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to join our team and deliver letters and parcels in the local area. You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends, with a 35-hour week across Monday to Sunday and training provided.

This role requires a full manual UK driving licence, the ability to work outdoors in all weathers, and a customer-focused, reliable, self-motivated approach. Full training, a uniform, and a red Royal Mail van are provided.

Qualifications

• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, lift 10kg+ mailbags.

Location: Llangefni Delivery Office, LL77 7AA

Job type: Fixed Term contract (6 months)

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 35:00 hours per week - working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday -08:00/15:00*

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
