Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Liverpool for a fixed-term 9-month contract. The role covers 30 hours per week across a rotating shift, including some Sundays, delivering letters and parcels by van and on foot in the local area.

You'll work outdoors in all weathers and build relationships with customers. A full manual UK licence and a willingness to drive daily are required; training and a driving assessment will be provided.

Qualifications

• A full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address).
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, and lift 10kg+ mailbags.

Location: Woolton Delivery Office, L25 7AA

Job type: Fixed Term contract 9 months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 30:00 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 07:00/15:00*, 14:00 - 20:00

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work Sundays at Liverpool south Delivery Office 1 in every 3 weeks.

What To Expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods
