Job summary

Royal Mail in Workington is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to deliver letters and parcels on a 30-hour weekly schedule, across a 5 days in 7 pattern, with some weekend shifts. You will use a Royal Mail van and walk in your local area, handling items and building customer relationships.

You will receive full training, a uniform, and a benefits package, including pension support and wellbeing services. Overtime is paid and a rotating shift pattern may apply.

Qualifications

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points).
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, lift/carry 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable, self-motivated and able to work in a busy environment.

Job type: Permanent contract

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 30:00 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 09:00/15:00*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work Sundays on a rota basis.

About You
