Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking a Postie in Lampeter to deliver letters and parcels on a rotating shift, including some weekends. You will sort at the delivery office, deliver by van and on foot, and build relationships with customers. You’ll work outdoors in all weathers and stay active while supporting your local community.

We provide full training, a uniform, and a iconic red van. You should hold a full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points) and be physically fit to handle 10 kg+ mailbags and

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily
• Working in all weather conditions
• Delivering letters and high volumes of parcels

Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van.

You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
