Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Kirkcaldy is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed-term contract for 9 months. You'll deliver letters and parcels, work outdoors, and join a rotating shift including weekends. You will receive a full training, a uniform, and a red Royal Mail van.

A full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points) and the ability to pass a driving assessment are required. Hours are 25 per week with overtime and a monthly pay of £13.68 per hour.

Job type: Fixed Termcontract 9 Months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 25:00 hours per week - working 5days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - Monday - Saturday 4pm Sunday 9AM/Monday - Saturday 9pm Sunday 7pm*

You'll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You'll be required to work Sundays as per the rota.

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily
• Working in all weather conditions
• Delivering letters and high volumes of parcels
• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
