Royal Mail invites applications for a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) position in Inverness. The role is fixed-term for 9 months, with a hourly rate of £13.68, paid monthly plus overtime. Working pattern includes weekends on a rotating schedule; full training and a Royal Mail van are provided.

Working hours: 07:00hours per week – Saturday only – 08.20am/15.20pm*

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
