Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Bristol to deliver letters and parcels and sort items at the delivery office. It involves a rotating shift and some weekend work. You’ll build relationships with customers and work outdoors in all weather.

You will need a full manual UK driving licence and be able to pass a driving assessment. Training, a uniform, and a red van are provided.

You'll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand. You'll be required to work one in four Sundays at Bristol South East Delivery Office, BS4 3DZ. • We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need: - A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address) - Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment - Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags - Reliable and self-motivated - Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment - Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service - Comfortable working outdoors and independently
• Salary: £13.68 per hour (paid monthly) + paid overtime available. Working hours: 37 hours per week - working 5 days in 7 across Monday

• Please note: For candidate search purposes, roles offering between 35-37 hours per week are listed as full-time. However, any role under 37 hours per week will be classified as part-time in the employment contract.
• As a Postie, you're expected to securely deliver all items on your route, including handling and delivering election materials and certain items (such as food products or alcohol) in line with Royal Mail business standards.
