Job summary

Royal Mail in Rochester is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed-term 6-month contract, 35 hours per week, with shifts 07:00-15:00 or 13:00-21:00 and some weekend work. You’ll sort letters and parcels at the delivery office, deliver by van and on foot in your local area, and build relationships with customers while working outdoors in all weathers.

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.Working hours: 35.00hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 07:00-15:00 or 13:00 - 21:00.

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
