Royal Mail is hiring at the Biggleswade Delivery Office for a Fixed Term 9-month role delivering mail and parcels. You’ll walk up to 12 miles daily, drive a Royal Mail van, and work 30 hours across five days.

We provide full training, a uniform, and a reliable income with paid overtime. Applicants should hold a full UK manual driving licence (max 6 points) and be prepared to work outdoors in all weather.

Location: Biggleswade Delivery Office, SG18 8AA

Job type: Fixed Term 9 months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 30 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 08:45/14:45*

What To Expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily
• Working in all weather conditions
• Delivering letters and high volumes of parcels
• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
