Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking a Parcel Delivery Driver for the Southport Delivery Office. This fixed-term contract runs for 6 months and provides 30 hours per week, with shifts between 14:40 and 20:30; weekend rotas may apply. You will prepare your van, use route-planning tools, and deliver parcels, acting as a positive ambassador for Royal Mail.

You must hold a full UK driving licence (no more than 6 points). The role offers a paid hourly rate, holiday allowance, pension, and career development

Responsibilities

  • Deliver parcels across the assigned area as part of a multi-drop run.
  • Prepare the van and workload for each shift.
  • Use route-planning technology to ensure parcels reach the right address at the right time.
  • Securely deliver all items including election materials in line with Royal Mail standards.

Hours: 30 hours per week, working 5 days across Monday - Sunday, working between 14:40 and 20:30

Due to operational demand, you will be required to work Saturday and Sunday, according to a local rota/plan.

Please note: For candidate search purposes, roles offering between 35-37 hours per week are listed as full-time. However, any role under 37 hours per week will be classified as part-time in the employment contract.

As a Parcel Delivery Driver, you’re expected to securely deliver all items on your route, including handling and delivering election materials and certain items (such as food products or alcohol) in line with Royal Mail business standards.
