Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Nantwich is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed-term 9-month contract. You’ll work 37 hours per week on a rotating schedule, 07:00-16:30, across Monday to Sunday, with some weekends and overtime available.

You’ll deliver letters and parcels by van and on foot in your local area, stay active outdoors, and build relationships with customers. Full training and a uniform are provided.

Salary: £13.68 per hour * (paid monthly) + paid overtime available. Working hours: 37:00 hours per week - working 5days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - 07.00-16:30*

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
