Job summary

Royal Mail in Linlithgow is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed-term 9-month contract. You will sort, deliver by van and on foot, and build relationships with customers on your route. You’ll work a 35-hour week across 5 days in 7, with some weekend shifts, in all weather.

You’ll need a full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points) and be physically fit to walk long distances and lift mailbags. Full training provided, plus benefits; the rota varies with demand.

Job type: Fixed Term contract (9 months)

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 35:00 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 10:00/17:30* Looking for a delivery driver job where you can stay active, connected to your community, and enjoy great benefits? What To Expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
