Royal Mail is hiring a Postie to deliver letters and parcels from Oakengates Delivery Office. The role involves driving a Royal Mail van, walking routes, and delivering in all weather conditions. Shifts include weekends on a rotating schedule, with full training and a uniform provided.

Job type: Fixed Term contract (10 months)

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 30hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 08:00/15:00*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work Sundays as required.

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
